Ronald S. Weiss, M.D.

Dr. Ronald S. Weiss is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and founder of Chicago Eye Consultants. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataracts, diabetic eye care, glaucoma and other medical and surgical eye disorders. His expertise is cataract surgery.  As one of the busiest cataract surgeons in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Weiss performs complicated cataract surgeries, often referred by other ophthalmologists, and incorporates the latest technology and premium implants on qualified candidates.   

 

Dr. Weiss received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Northwestern University with his medical degree. He completed his residency at the University of Chicago and is a proud member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has an academic appointment at Rush University Medical School where he teaches and performs surgery with the Ophthalmology Residents.  Dr. Weiss is also Chairman of Ophthalmology at MacNeal Hospital.  Dr. Weiss had been in private practice for 15 years before founding Chicago Eye Consultants in 2006.

Brian P. Larsen, M.D.

Larsen_Headshot_Resized.jpgDr. Brian P. Larsen, a Board Certified Vitreo-retinal surgeon, joined Chicago Eye Consultants in 2012. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases and conditions including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal artery and vein occlusions, retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, and macular holes.

Dr. Larsen graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. He continued his education at the Rosalind Franklin University, North Chicago, Illinois where he earned a Master of Science in Applied Physiology followed by his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School. His surgical internship and ophthalmology residency was completed at RUSH University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Larsen continued his training with a vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship from the Medical College of Wisconsin. 

In addition to working at Chicago Eye Consultants, Dr. Larsen dedicates time to teaching medical students, residents and fellows.  He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines VA, where he has won the Teacher of the Year Award.  He is also a Consulting Physician at Cook County Hospital.  Dr. Larsen is an active member in both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Specialists.

Alyssa Berry, OD

Dr. Berry is a licensed optometrist and her services include the treatment and management of ocular disease including age related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and dry eye among others. She has an additional level of service by providing glasses and contact lens fittings, pediatric eye exams, and urgent care needs including red eyes and eye infections.

Dr. Berry received her Doctorate from Indiana University School of Optometry and completed undergraduate studies at Indiana University where she was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa and the Gold Key Honor Society. Dr. Berry is also an active member of the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA), as well as the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). VOSH has allowed her to take two service trips to Frome, Jamaica in order to provide comprehensive eye care as well as surgical post-operative care to underserved populations.

Saba Quraishi, MD

QuraishiPhoto.pngDr. Quraishi is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataracts, intraocular lenses, blepharoplasty, as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Her area of expertise is cataract surgery.

Dr. Quraishi graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Program at Loyola University prior to matriculation at Northwestern University, where she obtained her Doctorate of Medicine. She completed post graduate medical education, internal medicine and ophthalmology residency training at Louis Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Henry Ford Health systems respectively.

Milap Mehta, M.D.

Hallway Photo_Mehta-RESIZEDDr. Mehta is a board certified ophthalmologist with extensive sub-specialty training in oculoplastic surgery and facial plastic surgery. He trained at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital at Jefferson Medical College, Georgetown University for his ophthalmology training and Cleveland Clinic-Cole Eye Institute for oculofacial plastic surgery.

Dr. Mehta has been in practice for 5 years and specializes in eyelid lifts including blepharoplasty and ptosis repair to improve vision, cosmetic eyelid surgery including removal of the lower eyelid bags, eyebrow lifts, and mid-face or cheek-lifts. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has extensive training in taking care of tumors, both benign and malignant, on the eyelids, eyes, face and orbit. Dr. Mehta also specializes in facial rejuvenation which includes non-surgical options. During his time as Director of Northshore Healthcare System’s oculoplastic surgery, he was given The Excellence Award by the nurses at Northshore University Hospital.

His hobbies include running, basketball, traveling with his family, and spending time with his two daughters.
